The Rival 1 group is a specially developed for use with a chainring group with an intended use of racing over up to the Triathlon Cyclocross.

For the 2018 model year, the Rival 1 rear derailleur has been given Type 3.0 (Roller Bearing Clutch) rear derailleur damping, which ensures an even quieter and cleaner running of the chain. The parallelogram of the rear derailleur, adapted to the grading of cassettes with 11-26 to 11-36 cassettes, offers fast and precise gear changes across the entire range. The 12-tooth roller wheels with the X-Sync tooth profile improve the chain guidance and prevent the chain from jumping off. Furthermore, the rear derailleur for the easiest wheel change is equipped with the already known Cage-Lock system.
